Over the past few , events like Bacardi's NH7 Weekender and providers like Spotify India have exposed the Indian audience to independent artists (ie not signed to a label and not making tracks for movies) ; a lot of whom sing in English. Names like Prateek Kuhad (who only recently signed to a label) , Raghav Meattle, F16s etc come to my mind.
So i.) do y'all listen to the solely English artists and ii.) do you think Indian English artists can make a big impact in India and around the world, similar to or somewhat comparable to Bollywood?

But the state clearly don’t want a precedent by letting Steven out, otherwise they would have convicted him twice by mistake which could seriously damage Americans trust in the justice system. I know this is a weird question to ask on this subreddit, but I feel like it may be useful to hear thoughts from a group I generally agree with. I recently got promoted and have to manage other workers. I won't always be alone, there are managers above me that will usually be there, but I still have to keep tabs on people and get the job done. I am terrified of being like other managers that mistreat people. To be honest I didn't even want this promotion all that much, but I couldn't find another opportunity to make more money here and I was very concerned that someone worse would have gotten the position if I didn't go for it, which was the case for the past two managers. The last person in this position got fired for harassment and poor treatment of employees. Anyway, I don't like the idea of being a hard ass, but I also know that some employees won't do their job on their own... I don't want to be the kind of boss that makes people hate their job more than they already do, but I've never been a leader of any sort and I just want to find ways to at least boost morale and take care of my friends while still doing what I have to to keep this job. I don't want to contribute to fucked up work expectations that plague the general work force, but I seriously need this job... Any tips are appreciated

There's ~30 criteria (essential & desirable), which they want addressed in a cover letter. I'm a recent grad with internship experience so I haven't applied for 'real jobs' before and I thought cover letters are supposed to be brief.
Should I...

  • List every requirement I meet (close to 30) and write my dot points under each? Seems very long.
  • or list my experience/education as headings and then explain how each relates to xyz requirements?
  • a different format?

2021.12.06 09:02 findus_l I have trouble narrating closing from long to medium range.

Me and my group where playing the beginners game of Star Wars Force & Destiny. In this game there is a bridge that is long range from end to end. Also along the bridge there is cover from the pillars. My players whished to approach the enemies on the other side while going from cover to cover. So one maneuver to move and one to duck into cover. Seems very logical and they would be making consistant progress accross the bridge. However since they are at long range, 1 maneuver to move in game terms does not actually change their distance to medium range, because that takes 2 maneuvers. I found it very hard to narrate that and on the go decided to put a "medium-long" rangeband inbetween.
How do you handle that? How can I prevent such problems?
Also little bonus question, a character with the critical injury "Temporarily lame" "Cannot perform more than 1 maneuver per turn until injury is healed", would be unable to ever close from long to medium range?

What are best practices for setting up long term retention for an Azure SQL DB? Are there any common strategies to keep the costs low? How should one go about implementing it for keeping 10 year backups. When I select weekly snapshots for 10 years, the cost is going through the roof (3.5x the cost of the DB just for LTR) and I realized there must be a better way to store DB snapshots, either with LTR or custom solutions.
I am no DBA and I am finding it hard to find any best practices and how it should be setup and suggestions or resources is appreciated. How would it have been done on an OnPrem SQL server
